SanDisk Introduces 32GB Flash-based Notebook Drive

SanDisk will be releasing en masse a solid-state disk drive for notebook computers real soon. What does this mean for you the consumer? You can look forward to faster hard drives that drain up to 87% less power, thereby increasing the time you can spend on your wonderfully decked-out notebook PC. After spending a week using a company-owned laptop out in the field and waiting forever for apps to load, something like this would be a boon for me. Unfortunately, it looks like me and the rest of the regular consumer market will have to wait up to 5 years before this technology becomes affordable enough.
